Like you, the safety & security of our "family" of employees and customers is Omnitrans' highest priority. Our coach operators are trained with the latest safety and security information. Additionally, our buses are equipped with onboard cameras for your protection. Omnitrans' dedication to safety has been recognized with 14 National Safety Council Awards.

If You See Something...Say Something

Passengers provide a vital second set of eyes to ensure safety aboard buses. We encourage you to familiarize yourself with your surroundings (on buses and elsewhere) and be alert. If You See Something...Say Something!

Suspicious packages, containers and devices come in all shapes, sizes, and smells. Always take your personal items with you when you exit the bus. If you find an unattended package, don’t touch it! Immediately report it to your driver or call 911. A few things to look for in a suspicious package:

• Unattended package
• Bulky wrapping
• Strange smells
• Wires or ropes sticking out

Suspicious People should be reported to your driver and/or police if they:

• Act in a disorderly manner
• Are alarming and disturbing others
• Abandon a package and quickly exit the area
• Carry a weapon or if you suspect the person is carrying a weapon
• Pace, appear nervous or are jumpy
  

Of course, in an emergency always follow the instructions of your driver, police and fire officials.

WeTip

Omnitrans, in partnership with We Tip, Inc. has an anonymous hotline for passengers to use to report crimes 24 hours a day/365 days a year. The WeTip hotline provides an avenue to allow all passengers to report crimes and policy violations without any fear or without any possibility of being identified.

Emergency Preparedness

Being prepared is the best way to reduce the stress and complications that an emergency brings. Preparedness helps you safe guarding yourself and your family, while also providing peace of mind.

Omnitrans has a number of measures in place to address a broad range of emergences. Additionally, we encourage you to be prepared. Below are links to sites with valuable info to help you prepare for the next emergency:

• San Bernardino County Office of Emergency Service, which is responsible for disaster planning and emergency management coordination throughout the San Bernardino County Operational Area.

• Community Emergency Response Team (CERT), helps train people to be better prepared to respond to emergency situations in their communities.

• Ready.gov, a site from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, offers detailed information on preparing for terrorist incidents. Included are brochures, checklists, public service announcements and links for additional information.

• American Red Cross Community Disaster Education Materials offers a wide array of disaster education materials from the Red Cross, from government agencies and from the media.

• U.S. Department of Homeland Security, this site includes information about the current national threat level and general emergency preparedness.
