  • 2000
    New low-floor new flyer buses were added to Omnitrans’ fleet.

  • 2001
    Omnitrans celebrates its 25th Anniversary with benefits for the passengers throughout the year. “Old Blue”, a 1958 General Motors Coach was refurbished and used as a vintage bus for special events. Automated Passenger Counters (APC) were used to collect system performance data such as number of pick ups, drop offs and on-time performance.

  • 2002
    Dial-A-Ride service was renamed to OmniLink and was introduced for the communities of Grand Terrace/South Colton and Chino Hills. The Victor Valley Transit Authority introduced the Victor Valley Commuter that connects people from the high desert to Metrolink and Omnitrans stops in Rancho Cucamonga, Ontario and San Bernardino. Omnitrans became the first transit authority to use electric/gasoline hybrid coaches that run on Route 2. These buses reduce the amount of emissions significantly than compressed and liquefied natural gas vehicles. Improvements to the Fontana Transit Center were completed.
