What do coach operator Frank Astorga and sbX have in common? They’ve both achieved landmark milestones this year!
This month Frank was inducted into the Omnitrans Two Million Mile Club, which honors coach operators who have logged 25,000 driving hours without a preventable accident. It’s the equivalent of driving four round trips to the moon and back!
It’s an accomplishment of which he’s particularly proud, especially since it coincides with another benchmark achievement close to his heart. In January, the sbX bus rapid transit line reached a landmark one million rides!
“I was in the first graduating class of sbX coach operators, and have been driving the line since the beginning,” Frank told us. “I feel like it’s given me the chance to help make history. I love what I do and wouldn’t change it for the world.”
On Friday, we’re helping Frank celebrate his two million mile safety award and sbX’s one million rides milestone with a special passenger thank you.
We’ll be boarding Frank’s sbX coach at the Palm at Kendall Park and Ride in San Bernardino at 6:00 a.m. for a round trip ride. Passengers riding Frank’s coach will receive sbX tote bags (while supplies last) and be entered into a prize drawing for a free 31-day bus pass!
It’s our way of saying “Thanks a million” for letting us serve you. See you Friday morning!
