bus-book-cover

The new year will welcome Omnitrans riders with new service enhancements and more connectivity! Beginning on Sunday, January 8th, Route 215 customers can expect changes implemented by Riverside Transit Agency (RTA) as part of a project that will introduce new and upgraded bus stops at more than 20 central locations. The project is designed to deliver world-class service to popular destinations as the Riverside area continues to grow and expand.

The existing Riverside Downtown Terminal will shut down and Route 215, our Freeway Express route traveling from the San Bernardino Transit Center to Downtown Riverside, will make adjustments to better serve our riders traveling to the area. The new stop for Route 215 will be located at University and Lemon, with one additional connecting stop at the Metrolink Station in Downtown Riverside on Vine Street (see map below). This change will be effective on Sunday, January 8th

New fares for veterans

Effective January 5th,  veterans will be able to ride for 50% off of the regular full fare price. Veterans simply need to show retired military ID when boarding any Omnitrans route to take advantage of the discounted fare. The veterans fare can be used on the sbX rapid line, 215 freeway express, local bus routes, and OmniGo community.

Acceptable veteran IDs include those issued by the County of San Bernardino Department of Veterans Affairs, the US Department of Veterans Affairs and the Department of Defense. If you are a veteran and you don’t have one already, Omnitrans encourages you to get a retired military ID. (see right) ID application information for the County of San Bernardino Military Veteran ID card can be found online at http://hss.sbcounty.gov/va or by calling 866-4SB-VETS (866-472-8387).

Free fares for uniformed active military, firefighters and police
Active duty military personnel must wear the appropriate uniform at the time of boarding and present a valid U.S. Unformed Services ID card indicating active service or a Common Access card indicating uniformed services or active duty.

Police and fire personnel must be in full Class A uniform at the time of boarding.
