Loma Linda Park-and-Ride Paving Complete

In October, crews were busy at work in Loma Linda to finish major paving activities, including the park-and-ride lot just south of Anderson Street and Redlands Boulevard. This is one of four park-and-ride locations along the sbX corridor and it is a key location that will connect riders in Loma Linda and Redlands to other station locations in San Bernardino. Park-and-ride station benefits include:

  • Bus shelters to protect from wind, sun and rain
  • Digital message boards
  • Emergency telephones
  • Electronic ticket vending machines
  • Closed circuit videos for safety
  • Solar powered lighting

Major activities throughout Loma Linda in November include station lighting installation and data and video communication system installation.

Station Work Continues in Loma Linda

Traffic signal work will begin this month for the Benton Street and Barton Road sbX station.

Work continues smoothly in Loma Linda as crews work on the side boarding sbX stations throughout the city. Within the past weeks, the steel canopy structure has gone up at the Benton Street and Barton Road station that will serve the VA Loma Linda Medical Center area. Traffic signal work will also take place at this location during the next few weeks.

The steel canopy has been installed at Anderson Street east station across from the park-and-ride lot near Redlands Boulevard.

Elsewhere in Loma Linda, crews have also completed installing the steel canopy structure at the Anderson Street east side boarding sbX station near Redlands Boulevard. This station is located across the street from the sbX park-and-ride lot in Loma Linda. In the coming weeks, work will focus on building a low concrete wall at the backside of the station.

sbx Construction in Full Swing at Civic Center

The west side of E Street between 6th Street and 2nd Street is currently under construction. Street widening activities such as sidewalk and curb and gutter removal have already taken place and crews are working on grading the area for the new street configuration. Utility, electrical and irrigation work is also ongoing in this area.

Electricians for the sbX construction project work at the southwest corner of Court Street and E Street in the Civic Center area.

On the south end of E Street between Orange Show Road and Hospitality Lane, construction management worked with the city to open up all lanes traffic to help improve mobility through this area. Crews worked diligently to get the work done before the Thanksgiving Day holiday so that people could get to Inland Center Mall and other businesses in the area with more ease throughout the holiday shopping season. While work remains to be done in this area, the impacts will be lessened as traffic control will be done only as needed at specific locations.
