Omnitrans Welcomes New Director of Operations

SAN BERNARDINO, CA, February 22, 2006- Omnitrans is pleased to welcome P. Scott Graham, as its new Director of Operations. Graham joins the agency with a wealth of transportation and military experience. Graham is a former transportation manager for the Orange County Transportation Agency, (OCTA), and is approaching the task of overseeing the daily operation of coaches within the Omnitrans 480-square-mile service area with a fierce focus on service.

“It doesn’t matter if you’re a big agency or a small one, there are similar issues that everyone faces,” said Graham. “Safety, courtesy, reliability- these are the things that make up the cornerstone of what makes a successful transportation agency.”

Immediately prior to joining Omnitrans Graham was a Base Manager at OCTA where he oversaw 400 operators and 200 coaches. He helped successfully negotiate two labor contracts and created the Coach Operators Handbook, the ultimate bus driver’s reference for conduct and performance.

“Scott’s unique blend of transportation and military experience made him one of the most qualified candidates for the job,” said CEO/General Manager Durand Rall. “He has what it takes to be a good leader and ensure that our operations run smoothly.”

Before his beginning his career in public transportation Graham spent 26 years in the Marine Corps, serving in progressively responsible positions in Southeast Asia and the Middle East including Vietnam and Desert Storm. Graham also served as a military adviser to Korea and Thailand. While stationed in the United States Graham was assigned to various military units that required training in parachute and scuba operations, amphibious warfare and logistics management.

Graham holds a Masters degree in Transportation Management from San Jose University as well as a Bachelor of Art’s degree in Political Science from East Carolina University.

Graham fills the shoes of Director of Operations Cindy Peterson, who retired in December after 20 years of service with the agency.
